Most of the customer’s storage was on file shares and an outdated SharePoint environment. The customer wanted to be more flexible and offer more employees remote work options, so they needed to determine how best to connect these users and present the information they need. Specifically, the customer wanted to reduce operational costs while leveraging a platform to deliver worker flexibility and “anytime, anywhere” mobility.


The customer selected Accudata as its partner in this effort and Accudata’s extensive experience working with companies in the oil and gas sector. At the same time, Accudata’s client services team was engaged to manage the customer’s licensing and renewal needs.

Accudata focused on the following principles and products to enable a more modernized and mobile workforce for the customer:

  • Easier management and security: Migration to Windows 10 provided a secure, up-to-date, and supported platform. Migration from existing on-premises Exchange servers to Exchange Online likewise provided easier access and security. Accudata also implemented Microsoft Intune for mobile device management and BitLocker for device encryption. And, Accudata implemented Azure multi-factor authentication (MFA) and SSL for secure authentication.
  • Modern cloud collaboration: Migration of content to SharePoint Online provided easier access to information while minimizing required support of on-premises platforms. Implementation of Microsoft Teams, moving away from Skype for Business, ensured that office and remote workers could stay connected.
  • Simplified licensing model: Consolidating platforms with Microsoft 365 means more centralized management of licenses and renewals, which equates to overall cost savings and a higher return on investment.
